Obituary for Annemarie Stephens

Annemarie Stephens
Annemarie Erika Stephens (nee Klose) passed away at Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill, Ontario on December 13, 2017 at the age of 86. Beloved mother of Debbie (Mario), Karin and Julie and loving grandmother to Jessica and Christopher, (predeceased by husband David and grandson Michael).
One of four siblings: Inge and Ernst have sadly previously passed on, however Annemarie's last days were made brighter by a greatly appreciated visit this past September by her sister Lilo and brother-in-law John from Durham, N.C. Lilo and John made an enormous effort to head north to spend an unforgettable 10 days with Annemarie and her family. We are deeply indebted for this kindness. Annemarie's daughters thank all relatives, neighbours and friends, too numerous to mention individually, for their kindness and attention.
Born in Danzig, Germany on October 16, 1931, Annemarie lived through many event-filled decades. As a young German bride who married a dashing English fellow in the post-war years, she faced many challenges with strength and determination. She taught herself English, learned to drive and devoted herself to raising her 3 sometimes unruly daughters. The family lived in England, briefly in Germany, the United States and settled finally in Canada. Annemarie loved to follow global politics and enjoyed watching both CNN and BNN. She was always on top of, if not ahead of weather trends and should have been on the weather channel with advice on what to wear that day.
Annemarie was warm, vivacious and beloved by many. She will always be remembered with love and affection by her nearest and dearest.
