Both Doris and her brother Stan were known to me when working at Endean Nurseries many years ago. Doris is also known to me through long membership in the Richmond Hill Garden and Horticultural Society. She will be remembered as an unique personality well respected for all her involvement in the life of Richmond Hill. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

Sad to hear of Doris' passing, but she had a long, and satisfying life. Doris and I, along with Nancy McGuffin Price, Nan Jardine, Emily Bowman, Janet & David Fayle, Pat & Bob Hasler and others worked on the restoration of the Burr House together. Doris often told me it was the happiest time of her life because we worked as a team to accomplish the restoration and successful evolution to a tea room and craft sales facility and pioneer craft education facility.

Throughout the years we worked together and produced the RH Historical Society newsletter and put together various fundraising projects such as Victorian Teas, and the Founders Day at the Presbyterian Church on June 19, 1988. That seemed to be her personal best. Doris was a great promoter of the history of Richmond Hill and took on various executive roles over the years such as President, Vice President, program director, newsletter, etc.. She will be missed but lovingly remembered by those of us he knew her. Rest in peace, Doris. Your friend, Cheryl Butler, Past President Richmond Hill Historical Society.
