Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothea Harkin (Munro), after a brief illness in her 90th year. Devoted mother of Troy (Christie) and cherished grandmother of James, Eliot and Kate, she will be greatly missed by her extended family across the country. Although we grieve the loss of our mother and grandmother, we take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her husband, Anthony. The family would like to thank the team at Southlake Hospital for their outstanding kindness and compassion.
Visitation will be held at Marshall Funeral Home 10366 Yonge St, Richmond Hill on Thursday, May 16th between the hours of 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, with a funeral mass at Our Lady Queen of the World at 11:30 am on Friday, May 17th. Donations to the Scott Mission or Southlake Hospital would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.

To the Harkin Family

My condolences on the passing of Mrs Harkin. I remember her from the local pharmacy at the Allencourt Plaza when I worked there. Always such a pleasant lady.

Troy, Christie and Family

I have a few memories myself but a lot of what I know are the stories my Mom has been telling me for years and over the years about Aunt Dorothea & Uncle Tony and how good they were to her and how much she respected and loved your Mom & Dad. From them sending over her first bike when she was just a little girl to her going down east to babysit Troy when he was only a few weeks old. Not to mention your Mom telling my Mom "well he just won't leave you alone!" when my Dad drove out East to try to sneak my Mom back home. Sharon was the youngest of 8 and Aunt Dorothea the oldest so it makes sense that she would be like a second Mom to her baby sister in such a large family. Troy you will have to ask Aunt Sharon about her bracelet when you see her if she remembers to wear it --- I have a lot of old photos I will also share with you that you may or may not have seen before. Hold your memories close to your heart and lean on them when you need strength! Rest in Peace Aunt Dorothea you are fondly remembered xo Love Chrissy
