Cubitt, Micheal Stannard
April 5, 1936 -- June 26, 2019

It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved Mike. Loving husband of 60 years to Margaret (nee Heasman). Father to Susan (Mike) and David (Jane). Grandfather to Nicholas (fiancé Amanda), Jordana, Ashley (Matt) and all extended families.

Dad brought our family from England to Canada in November 1966. He was a proud Royal Marine and founding member of the RMA of Ontario. Member in good standing with Markham Rotary for many years. Volunteer at Mackenzie Health Centre until last year. Long distinguished career in the travel business.

Friends may call at the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill on Thursday July 4 from 10am until the time of the service at 11am. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Dear Margaret, David and Susan,
Jack and I are so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. Our few visits with you over the years when Joe was alive and Tina still have always been great memories. Mike always had such a pleasant smile. You were an eternal couple and strong family for sure!
Blessings to you all.

Dear Margaret, David & Susan,
It is so very sad to hear of Mike's passing. Mike was very special to us because he planned our fabulous one month honeymoon trip to Europe in 1971. Mike & Erika worked together at Intervoyage-CTAL. Mike and Margaret attended our wedding on September 18, 1971 and we have been special friends ever since. We enjoyed many great get-togethers in every place that we lived ... Toronto (High Park), Etobicoke, Tiny Township (Georgian Bay) and Niagara-on-the-Lake. We liked to share our many travel experiences over the years. We are going to miss him a lot. Thank goodness for all the wonderful memories!
With love, Erika & Bob Buchkowsky, Niagara-on-the-Lake

Mick was my late husband, David Howes’ cousin. Mick’s dad, Stannard and Dave’s mother, Margaret Cubitt Howes were brother and sister. I have known the family for 53 years, since their arrival in Canada.

Their first home was the Rose Motel in Stoney Creek where they had a family unit, until finding an apartment on Fennell Ave. on the Hamilton mountain. We babysat their children Susan and David several times at the motel whilst Mick and Maggie were you invited to some Travel related functions. Over the years and moves to other apartments, a house on Bedle Ave and then to the condo on Weldrick, we continued to get together numerous times. We would always got together on Boxing Day to celebrate the holidays with their family, Stannard and Jean (Mick’s parents), Jeff and Tomiko Smyth, Peter their son as well as Stanley and Nora (Jeff’s-parents).

These were wonderful and memorable times together! We’ve kept in touch throughout the years for lunches and other family functions as well as by phone and modern technology. We will continue our lunches together now without Mick, but he will be with us in spirit. Harold will miss his beer buddy!

To the family, our hearts go out to you at this difficult time. Remember all the good times, reminisce together, cry and laugh together. He will always be held with love in our hearts and minds. Love always, Tina Howes, Harold Robinson.

Dear Cubitt Family... My heartfelt condolences are with you in this time of grieving the loss of Mike. He was a wonderful gentleman who was full of life, humorous, compassionate and so many other lovely qualities. I am honored to have crossed paths with him and honored to say I knew this proud Royal Marine! I wish I had the perfect words to say to ease the pain, but I would point you to the "Word" where 2 Corinthians 1:3 (in The Passion Translation) refers to God as "the Father of tender mercy and the God of endless comfort.” May you seek and find Him as your "endless comfort" in this painful time.

Dearest Margaret, Dave, Susan,
We are very sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. Always a smile on his face and a little twinkle in his eye, we so enjoyed our chats with him at Cubitt family gatherings. Such a lovely man. Know that our hearts and thoughts are with you all at this time. May he rest in God’s perfect love and peace.
