Smith William G.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William G. Smith who passed peacefully in his sleep on Monday January 6, 2020 at approximately 7 a.m. at the age of 81. Born on June 4, 1938, he is predeceased by his father William, mother Rose and sisters June and Louise. He will be fondly remembered by Ulla, his wife of 42 years, his sister Darlene, sons Jamie and Jerry, daughter in law Jean, and his 6 grandchildren, Brooke, Trevor, Lily, Kayla, Alicia and Jasmine. He will forever remain in the hearts of his extended family and friends. A proud steamfitter and member of Local 46 for over 50 years, and a hero and mentor to many, he was a great man and “one of a kind”, and will be sadly missed by all. Rest in Peace Dad. Friends and family may call at MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill on Thursday January 9th from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday, January 10th from 1 p.m. until service time in the chapel at 2 p.m. Cremation. I am sorry to hear that Bill has passed away. I have fond memories of spending time with you and Bill in Muskoka, and Cynthia has always let me know that Bill had always asked how I was doing when she would visit. Big hugs... I am sending my heartfelt condolences to you and the family xo

Bill (and Ulla) have been one of our best friend(s) from the day I moved into my house beside you, and later when my wife and children joined me. I have many fond memories of my time with Bill from building our fence and walkway together to just sitting on his (your) back porch sharing a drink, laughter, and consultation from a well respected person. I will miss him dearly

With love and heartfelt adoration

Growing up with you as my brother has given me many memories that I’ll cherish. Always did I look up to your kind and gentle ways with family and friends. I remember dad saying if you have one good friend when you get older you’ve done well. Well Bill you had many friends that were so close to you through your whole life and not many people can say that. You Always had a good word, a joke and a gift of knowing exactly what to say and do.
I watched as you became a husband and father and the impact you had on your sons lives. The respect and love they show for you speaks to your character and genuine and kind nature. I have so many fond memories but what I remember most is you being the best big brother, taking everyone tobogganing down killer hill or to the Ex (all at your own expense) and Despite our considerable age difference you always letting me tag along.
I will forever cherish our memories and be thankful that I was blessed with such an amazing brother.
Love and miss you always
Your lil sister ❤️
