Her beautiful smile and kindness is what I remember most about Zia Francesca. Growing up on the same street as her family I remember her welcoming us into her home and was never too busy for us. When Dad died she and Zio Domenico grieved with us and helped us through it. Vito and Luciano and to all of the family our deepest condolences at this time. You are in our prayers.

We remember Zia Franceschina as a strong, tough and intelligent woman, who could also easily well up with tears at the mention of a sad tale. She was at times, (much to our humorous delight), not one to mince words! In later years, I enjoyed visits with her, while living nearby in Richmond Hill. I will remember her common sense approach to life, her generosity and her valuable tidbits of advice. Although it has been a number of years, our children still speak of their memories of her and her backyard “pets” in Richmond Hill.

She was my aunt and my godmother and like all of us, I will miss her. God bless Zia Franceschina.

I was so sadden to hear of the death of my beloved godmother Francescina. I was blessed to have her in my life. She would call me every summer to go by her house for some vegetable from her garden and fresh eggs, and we would have a visit. I vacationed in San Vito, Calabria (her birth place) every year, and she would want to know all about my trip, who I saw and what was going on in town. Yes, I miss our visits--"what we have once enjoyed we can never lose."
Rest in peace, with much love Marina Sinopoli Greco.

My deepest condolences to Vito and Luciano Barbuto and their families.
